Free post-secondary training now available in Scott County

The Career Lift Initiative is a new community partnership open to Scott County residents that will provide:

FREE training: credentialing and certificate programs for high-demand jobs in Scott County.

Quality Job Placement & Retention Services provided by the Shakopee Area Chamber of Commerce.

Comprehensive Support Services through Scott County Employment and Training.

Eligibility Requirements

All participants must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and not enrolled in any K–12 school.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria:

  • Identify as a person of color
  • Lack stable housing
  • Lack a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have disabilities
  • Have been unemployed for 26+ of the past 52 weeks
  • Have limited English proficiency
  • Have income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline
