Chamber Committees

As an active, problem-solving organization, the strength of the Chamber lies in its membership: small businesses, large corporations, home-based businesses, and professional men and women, working together to enhance the business climate in Shakopee.

Chamber Committees

Public Policy Committee

The mission of this group is to be a proactive voice on public policy issues that impact our members, to facilitate communication, to inform Chamber membership and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding adopting a position or taking action on those issues.

GROW MN! Economic Development / Business Retention

Grow Minnesota! is Minnesota's first purely private sector, statewide business retention and expansion program. Its primary goal is to strengthen and grow Minnesota's economy. This committee Communicates regularly with Shakopee businesses and encourages them to grow here. We do this by conducting regular retention activities, including CEO-to-CEO visits and surveys. Company visits often reveal a need for assistance with business expansion, local or state government or the company’s general operations, and Grow Minnesota! representatives either provide that assistance directly or refer the company to the appropriate public or private sector organization. Visits are also used as an opportunity to collect feedback on public policy issues which is used to shape the local and state chamber’s public policy agendas.

Ambassador Committee

Ambassadors are responsible for promoting a professional atmosphere in which to establish business contacts. Committee members serve as greeters at Chamber functions, welcome new members to the Chamber and encourage member participation through phone calls and personal contacts. They help introduce new members to Chamber activities by serving as "buddies" during a new member's first year.

Event Committees

Event committee volunteers help with the planning, operations, logistics and fundraising for the Chamber’s Reds, Whites, and Brews, and Golf Tournament.

Executive Roundtable

Our Executive Roundtable facilitated by Scott Morrell of Rebar Leadership on behalf of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce provides a collaborative and intimate experience for the members of the group to share best practices, work out challenges, and support one another.
