MNSBIR, Inc. has catalyzed more than $80M of SBIR/STTR investments for more than 100 startups and small businesses. MNSBIR, Inc. assists US-owned and operated small businesses in Minnesota to secure non-dilutive funding from America’s Seed Fund – the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, and other federal funding opportunities.
Our mission is to assist seed, emerging, and established small businesses in securing government funding, facilitating the transformation of their high-risk, high-impact technologies into marketable products and services with domestic and international market opportunities. We facilitate the investment and commercialization of deep tech ideas by assisting their creators to secure federal research and development funds. We help Minnesota firms to bridge the gap between research and practical application, ensuring that innovative technologies or inventions have a real-world impact and are financially viable.
Our educational and coaching assistance is free and confidential. Leveraging our invaluable knowledge, experience, and relationships, we help firms to access this funding. We have decades of proven expertise and extensive connections across the 11 participating federal agencies, we specialize in guiding qualifying firms through this competitive and complex environment, making the journey less stressful and more manageable.
MNSBIR, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) funded in part through a Federal and State Technology Partnership Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, a legislative appropriation grant from the Minnesota legislature, and a cash contribution from the University of Minnesota, Technology Commercialization and the Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship.
