U.S. Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) are available to small businesses and nonprofit organizations that suffered economic injury caused by the storms from June 16 – July 4. Scott County is included in the disaster declaration as a “contiguous” county as it is adjacent to one of the 19 “primary” counties in Minnesota. Incontiguous counties, only economic injury loans are available.
EIDLs are working capital loans to provide working capital to businesses with ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. Importantly, businesses need not have suffered physical damage to be eligible for EIDLs.
The deadline to file an application for an EIDL is April 29, 2025, and applications can be filed online at sba.gov/disaster.
